If the Washington Redskins aren’t the most snake-bitten team from injuries in the NFL, they’re damn sure near the very top of the list.

We already knew about the Derrius Guice situation, but now add safety Montae Nicholson to the list of guys who are both injured, and may not play against the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday.

Nicholson’s injury flew largely under the radar, though Finlay did mention it in a post on NBCSports on Wednesday.

Losing Nicholson would put the Redskins’ secondary in a really bad position. The team is already perilously thin at free safety, meaning they’d either have to force Landon Collins to play more in coverage, or use Deshazor Everett or Troy Apke a lot more than they’d prefer.

That’s going to hurt even worse, considering the Cowboys’ offense looked a lot more explosive in the passing game, under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns in Dallas’ Week 1 win over the New York Giants.
