To quote the late Yogi Berra, when it comes to injuries to second-year running back Derrius Guce of the Washington Redskins, it’s déjà vu all over again
As a Redskins fan, we’ve gotten used to the idea of turning off a football game way earlier than expected when this team plays on Monday Night Football, because we can’t take any more of the humiliation on national television.
The Washington Redskins should be thanking 8-pound, 6-ounce baby Jesus that they escaped Los Angeles with a win against the Rams last Sunday (even though there was no reason that should’ve ended up being a close game)
Remember when we were all comforting ourselves with ideas like “it’s just the preseason” and “the coaching staff is deliberately keeping things vanilla” and “it’s way too early to hit the panic button?”
You’ll have to forgive me if, after the first full weekend of football (with College and the NFL back in full effect), I come off a little testy in this column.
