Hail To The District is dedicated to providing you with in-depth discussion, analysis, and opinions related to professional and collegiate sports in-and-around the Washington, D.C. area.
Rajan Nanavati, Editor In Chief
Rajan Nanavati was born and raised in the Washington, DC area, and has been a die hard fan of the local sports teams since he was five years old. While his #1 passion remains the Redskins and NFL Football, like any proud DC native, Rajan also roots for the Wizards, Capitals, and Nationals, and also the Virginia Tech Hokies (his alma mater). Rajan has covered Virginia Tech football and basketball, and DC area high school sports for various publications including the the Washington Post, the Southwest Times, and Collegiate Times of Virginia Tech. He has served as the Editor of RedskinsGab.com and DMVTrifecta.com, and has also been a guest contributor for ESPN.com. He currently lives in Montgomery Village, Maryland with his wife and dog, Rambo.
Dash Kannan, Staff Writer
Dash Kannan (his online pseudonym) was also born and raised in the Washington DC area on the rough streets of Montgomery County. As a diehard Redskins and Wizards fan, he never forgets to jump on the bandwagon once the Capitals and Nationals reach the playoffs. Also a fan of Auburn University football (don’t ask why) and University of Maryland basketball, Dash lives in the suburbs, works in DC, and advises you to follow his Snapchat with caution.
Patrick Rice, Staff Writer
Patrick was born and raised in Norfolk, VA and the first thing he learned was to root for the Burgundy and Gold. The Redskins are first and foremost in Pat’s heart, but as any good DC fan he actively roots for the Nationals, Capitals, and Wizards (in that order). While he did not attend UVA (Gettysburg College! Great day to be a Bullet!), Rice is an avid supporter of the WaHoos and anyone playing Virginia Tech. Currently writing for Hail To The District, Rice has previously written for RedskinsGab.com, DMVTrifecta.com, and has been published by NBC for Olympics coverage. Today, you can find Pat living in the heart of the District with his Girlfriend and 2-year-old Black lab Lara.
